The Playdough Pledge

I can’t tell you how excited I am about this actually!! I LOVE playdough. I suspect way more than Messy Boy does! I kinda hope that with all the different things we can do with it this week that he’ll develop a love for it too 😀
Here’s where we’ve started….. by cooking up a sensory batch of mint chocolate playdough. Again the nurturestore has to take credit for this recipe although I added peppermint essence as well 😉
Here’s what you will need:
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup salt
1 1/2 tbsp cream of tartar
2 tbsp sunflower oil
2 cups water
Mix it all up in a saucepan.
Then heat it slowly and gently on the hob, stirring, until it forms into a dough. I’m not showing you my hob!!! Remove from the heat. Scrape all the dough off the sides of the pan as it starts to cool.
Leave to cool. When you get bored of waiting for it to cool completely, scrape it out of the pan and give the still slightly warm dough a bit of light theraputic kneading for no real reason other than to get a load of that minty chocolatey gorgeousness 😀
Messy Boy is at preschool right now while his playdough is cooling – my job for the afternoon is to locate the sequins, cupcake cases, candles, and anything else we can use to make some awesome mint chocolate playdough cupcakes!
(Please note – this playdough is not really for eating, no matter how good it smells!!
